About Wyuna
A community formed around responsibility, growth, and sustainable living.
Established in 1985, Wyuna Community is a group of people who feel that the quality of life in our society is far from what it should be, and that our collective future depends on greater ecological responsibility.
In seeking solutions to ecological imbalances, we place humans at the centre and accept responsibility for our own evolution. We aim to research and assess smaller, more appropriate farming and building techniques, with a focus on appropriate technology and alternative energy sources.
Our work also addresses living alternatives to wage and income dependence, along with the development of creative leisure in a society where jobs are rapidly changing.
We aim to live together as an intentional family, to follow lifestyles chosen by ourselves rather than by circumstance, and to create opportunities for human and spiritual growth.
Wyuna is based in Canberra, ACT. The theoretical work of Dr Jim Cairns helped provide the catalyst for this project.
